About Caldremere
An independent UK guide to online co-op and party games: who we are, how the site is funded and why it looks like a game lobby.
The idea
Caldremere is an independent guide to online co-op and party games for players and families in the UK. We play each game online and on one sofa, with friends, partners and children, before writing a word, and every review answers the questions people ask before a session: how long is a round, how many can play, who can talk to us, what does it sell and when is a good moment to stop?
Why a lobby?
Every online game starts in a lobby, where the party gathers and gets ready. We borrowed that screen for the evening itself: pick a mode, check who is playing, and run a ready check before anyone queues, so the end of the night is agreed at the start.
The name
Caldremere comes from an old word for a cauldron and an old word for a lake: a pot where good things bubble up, beside still water. Our bubbling cauldron logo is our own.
Who we are
A small group of players who spend a lot of evenings in co-op and party games, with parents among us who set up the family settings on every platform we mention.
Money
No adverts, no affiliate links, no sponsored reviews and nothing for sale. Nobody pays to appear here, and we take no gifts or free copies in return for coverage.
Pictures
Every picture of a game is an original illustration made for Caldremere in the spirit of that game’s own look. None is official artwork or a screenshot, and none shows a real person.
UK English
British spelling, UK age labels and UK support services. No pop-ups, no autoplay and no tracking.
